22-year-old sport lover from Limerick, Ireland. Michael played football competitively in professional academies and to a semi-professional standard up until the age of 19. He then graduated with a BA Joint Honours in English literature and History from Cardiff University and is currently studying an MA in Sports Journalism at St. Marys University.
Michael has previously had work placements with several newspapers including the Northern Echo (twice), Central Somerset Gazette, Shields Gazette and Wells Journal. He has also had work published online for outlets such as The Mag (the most read publication by Newcastle United supporters), Fourfourfeed and careersinfootball. Since starting at St. Mary's Michael has also started a work placement with Football Insider under Wayne Veysey.
Michael also previously worked as a social media administrator for the football academy product Quick Feet, co-hosted a radio show called The Friday Sport Corner on Xpress Radio weekly, wrote for the adjoining Friday Sport Corner Blog, and had a column about the Cardiff Blues and Six Nations Championship printed fortnightly in Gair Rhydd.
A lover of a wide range of sports including football, rugby, snooker, darts, GAA, tennis, cycling and athletics, Michael's dream is to become a sports writer.
