Trevor Knight had the game of his life, and Eric Striker appeared to validate the ideal time of the Sooners.

Oklahoma shocked  the NCAAF with a victory 45-31 to Alabama in the 2014 Sugar Bowl edition .

Knight, in his first apperance in bowls as a freshman 1st string, looked like a veteran and by halftime had already imposed career highs in passing yards, thrown, completions, and touchdowns. He finished with 348, 44 , 32 and 4, respectively.

An interception on his first drive and respond with five attacks that ended in scoring for Oklahoma.

Knight 's performance was the dock with Oklahoma ( 11th-ranked ) contained a Crimson Tide ended their campaign with two losses , but that as the number 3 ranking is a complete disaster.

The Crimson Tide down on the score board by 38-31 with 56 seconds left and the quarterback AJ McCarron on their final possession as a college football player, from the Alabama 18-yard line, and Striker, one of the best linebackers in the NCAAF forced the fumble that, Geneo returned 8 yards to kill the triumph of the Sooners .

Total, with 14 -point lead late in the second quarter, the Sooners , who linked their victory 42 advantage at halftime, and felt the victory in the bag.

It was definitely not the desired end for McCarron career as a college football quaterback. Things did not go well at all this season for the  Crimson Tide, Nick Saban wanted a golden finish to this generation that won it all, but at the end finished with no championship ring.

The level of Oklahoma at the Sugar Bowl makes it clear, the Sooners  have returned to the elite, and Knight gives security that at least for three more seasons in Oklahoma 's team to compete at the highest level.
