Dominic Mensah: Black Lives Matter and British Gymnastics

A lot has happened in the year since Tumbling World Team Champion Dominic Mensah last spoke to the Sports Gazette.

Following George Floyd’s death in May, there have been worldwide protests against both police brutality and racially motivated violence towards black people.

“Black Lives Matter” has been plastered across placards and social media as people fight for change amidst a global pandemic.

GB gymnast, Mensah, has been speaking out on social media, and featured in a short film that highlights the racial prejudice, inequality, and injustice that exists today.

The Sports Gazette sat down with Mensah to discuss representation in gymnastics, as well as his reaction to the abuse allegations that have been surrounding British Gymnastics since last summer.
