Wales Women’s Rugby League side victorious in historic first ever international fixture

Wales Rugby League 24-20 England Community Lions

At the beginning of 2019 club Rugby League in Wales didn’t even exist. After a long summer of hard work from CEO and Coach Craig Taylor the Welsh women’s rugby team prepared for their first ever international fixture in November.

Their opponents on the night were the England Community Lions, also playing in their first international. Welsh captain Rafiuke Taylor became the first Welsh women to be capped in both League and Union.

On a cold, crisp evening in St Helens, Taylor scored two tries and led her side to a 24-20 victory on an historic night. Our reporter Alex Bartlett was in St Helens for all the action on an eventful and historic evening.
