What makes a sports fan?

Posted on 2 December 2017 by Emily Victoria

It is a well-known fact most sports professionals at the top of their game started the sport from the word go, but was their love for the sport drilled into them by a parent or friend?

Or did their obsession come from something raw and unmovable within?

Do people grow up liking certain sports because of their environment, culture or country, or do fans and sports people choose certain sports because it is truly what they enjoy?

Emily Victoria explored this issue for Sports Gazette by looking through the eyes of a very new sports fan, two-year-old Jude.

Jude may be very young, but he clearly enjoys playing and watching sport. He seems to have an affiliation with particular sports already over others. This is made particularly clear at the end of the video.
