Brentford vs Everton: Thomas Frank Wants Points to Match Performances
Jonny Coffey and Sam Brady report from the Brentford press room as the Bees prepare to host Everton in Premier League Action this Saturday.
“If you look at our performances, we should have had more points.” Brentford boss Thomas Frank is looking for his team to turn impressive showings into vital premier league points as they face Everton at the Gtech Community Stadium this Saturday.
The Bees sit in 11th place, tallying six points from five games.
Home draws against Tottenham, Crystal Palace, and Bournemouth have left the West London club on the brink of an unwanted record — share the spoils on Saturday and Brentford will join Derby County as the only side to draw four consecutive home games in the Premier League.
With a cruel defeat at Newcastle last Saturday, a home win would raise morale, as well as premier league standing.
They will have to manage without starting left-back Rico Henry, who is expected to miss the rest of the season after sustaining an injury at St James’s Park. Speaking on the player’s absence, Frank expressed sympathy for the player who, in his view, was on track for a call up to Gareth Southgate’s England ahead of Euro 2024.

Though disappointed, Frank is confident that the squad can adapt. Those stepping into Henry’s role can bring something exciting to the team. “They need to make the role their own, they need to contribute with their abilities and skillset,” Frank tells the Sports Gazette.
Deadline-day addition Neal Maupay is ineligible for Saturday’s game, having arrived on loan from the Goodison club.

The visiting side are looking to recover from a torrid start to the season, earning just one point from five outings.
An uninspired performance last time out against Arsenal left manager Sean Dyche ruing a toothless attack and The Toffees rank dead last in goals per game this season.
Despite Everton’s scoring woes, Frank has warned against complacency. “They have been creating chances. I am a big believer if you constantly get in those situations then eventually you will score.” A home win, he assures, demands sharp defending and poise in the final third.
