Cameroon vs Brazil: Can the Indomitable Lions pull off a miracle?

Brazil take on Cameroon in the final game of Group G as they clash inside the Lusail Stadium.

It’s the third World Cup that sees these teams square off. Brazil trounced Cameroon in both group games of the 2014 and 1994 World Cup, 4-1 and 3-0 wins respectively.

The Seleção have already secured qualification to the knockout stages with a 1-0 win over Switzerland, but will be looking to end on a high and secure top spot with a positive result.

Cameroon will need a win tomorrow and results to go their way for qualification, unlikely but not impossible.

Cameroon had a shaky start to their 2022 World Cup campaign with a painful 1-0 loss to Switzerland. Cameroon weren’t far off their opponents and were disappointed to not get a point.

They looked nailed on for an early exit at halftime of their second game, losing 3-1 at the break to Serbia.

The Indomitable Lions bared their fangs in the second 45, clawing back a two goal deficit and ensuring they had a chance going into the final game.

Rigobert Song made a big call before the Serbia game, sending number one Andre Onana home over a tactical dispute. Devis Epassy is expected to retain his place for Cameroon.

The other conceivable change is Vincent Aboubakar, the skipper came on to change the game against Serbia. Assisting the equaliser and scoring a sumptuous chip to make sure his team secured a point.

Brazil

Brazil have mostly lived up to the moniker of favourites so far, winning two from two and not conceding a single shot on target.

Richarlison bagged a brace to secure a 2-0 victory over Serbia to open their campaign. This was followed by an equally controlled 1-0 win over the Swiss.

Brazil, unlike their opponents, have much more uncertainty with their potential lineup. Alex Sandro was ruled out after he was forced off in the Switzerland game.

Opposite fullback Danilo is also a doubt for this game, while superstar Neymar remains out after his ankle injury in match day one.

Cameroon need a minor miracle to progress, and while Brazil are likely to rotate, expect the Seleção to win comfortably.

The game kicks off at 19:00 UK time on ITV.
