AFC Wimbledon host Crewe Alexandra at Plough Lane on Tuesday night, looking to build on their 2-1 win over Rochdale at the weekend.

The home side have endured a torrid start to the season and have slumped to 17th in the table, three points behind 13th placed Crewe.

Both sides were relegated from League One last season and have similarly struggled to find form and consistency in League Two.

The Dons ran out 3-2 winners when the sides met at Plough Lane last season.

The prospect of the play-offs is not ruled out yet for Wimbledon, as Johnnie Jackson’s men are nine points off 7th spot and will be hopeful of a win against a Crewe side that have not picked up a win in their last six games.

The star man for AFC Wimbledon this season has been Josh Davison, who scored the winner at Rochdale on Saturday – taking his goal tally to five for the season.

Jackson has confirmed today that Nathan Young-Coombes is set to miss a number of weeks following a scan on his knee. Alex Pearce (calf), Paris Maghoma (hamstring) and George Marsh (ankle) also remain side-lined.

Jackson will also be wary that Harry Pell and Ayoub Assal are both one yellow card away from suspension.

Crewe boast a fully fit squad ahead of the tie, although leading scorer Courtney Baker-Richardson is also just one booking away from a suspension.
