The Kia Oval: What happens out of Cricket season?

June 13, 2019

We all know that prestigious cricket venues such as Lord’s and the Oval are at the heart of hosting sport in British summertime.

T20 matches, test matches, World Cups; spectators come in their thousands to watch cricket matches in the sunshine, and enjoy a day out with friends and family.

The Kia Oval is host to some of the 2019 Word Cup’s biggest fixtures this summer. England battle South Africa, Sri Lanka face Australia and New Zealand clashes with Bangladesh.

There is no doubt that this venue creates a mass amount of entertainment in the summer months, but what happens outside of cricket season? The nations attention arguably turns away from cricket, to the Premier League, Rugby Union, and other sports in the winter months. But while the cricket season sleeps, the Oval keeps ticking all year long.
