Athletes Give Back: Monty Panesar and The Felix Project
Co-produced with Lukas Flottmeyer
Former England cricketer Monty Panesar is helping feed the hungry families of London this holiday season by volunteering with The Felix Project. An organisation that works with 600 charities and schools to distribute food to those in need. The Felix Project has 1300 volunteers and every hour they work can create 160 meals each. Production has ramped from 11 tonnes a day to 26 during the Covid-19 pandemic. A representative for over two years now Monty believes it is as important as ever to use his platform for good.
“I want to make a difference in this country. You know when I played cricket for England the fans responded to me. I remember when I played my first test match at Lord’s, 20-30 thousand people roared; and its because of them, because of their love, their affection, their support, where I am as a cricketer. So I feel it is my duty to give something back to this country.”
